Have you wondered why no one responds to your comments?
Chances are you are a no~reply blogger, this past week I have tried either replying to comments or questions and have been stumped by the {no reply comment}, I always go to the bloggers website and look for contact details, but you don’t all have them.
There maybe some folk who genuinely do not want replies or people to contact them, which is fair enough, BUT if you do want people to reply to your comments and contact you when necessary there are 2 changes you should make to your blog to enable this.
1} Change the Settings In Your Profile
From your Blogger dashboard you need to go to your blog profile, click on the icon in the top right hand corner.
A new window will open, click on Blogger Profile.
Your Blogger profile will then be displayed. Click the orange {Edit Profile} tab located in the top right corner.
This is where you can tinker about with your profile. To enable folk to respond to your comments, you MUST leave a tick in the {Show my email address} box, a simple click of your mouse will do the trick.
You also want to ensure your email address is displayed in the {Identity} section of your profile, its a good idea to get an email address that matches your blog name if possible!
Once you have updated your profile, {SAVE} your amendments!
Now you should start receiving responses to your comments and questions.
2} Add an {email me} icon to your sidebar
Another way folk can get in contact with you is to add an email me button in your sidebar, this doesn’t replace the necessity to ensure you are not a {no reply blogger} if you people to respond to your comments.
First up, you need to find or make an icon, search Google and you will find a whole heap you can buy or download for free.
I tinkered about and made this one to match my other social media icons
Once you have your icon, you need to upload it to Photobucket, you will need to set up a free account.
Once the icon is uploaded you will see all the various codes.
Copy and paste the code below into a word document.
<a href="mailto:citygirlgonecoastal@gmail.com "_blank">
<img src="http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd447/citygirl101/emailicon.jpg "></a>
Replace the green text with the copied URL code for your email icon you hosted in Photobucket. Replace the pink text with mailto:YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS
Do not remove or add anything else, or it will not work!
In Blogger, go to your {Layout} and open an {Add a Gadget} and then open a {HTML/JavaScript} tab.
Copy and paste your amended code into the {HTML/JavaScript} tab.
If you switch between {rich text} and {edit html} tabs you will see the icon / html code.
Save the code.
You now have an {Email Me} option on your blog.
Visitors to your blog will now be able to click on that icon and email you!
Both of these are easy options to enable both visitors to your blog to contact you and owners of the blogs you visit and comment on to contact you.
I hope you find these helpful, if you have any questions just ask!
