A lesson in ribbon storage!
If I can share one thing I have learnt since getting into crafts and such, other than don’t use spray paint indoors (I shall share all in another post), it’s that you shouldn’t take the cardboard thingamyjigs off a reel of ribbon.
You go from this, nice neat and organised,
a shambolic mess of ribbons.
I have tried a few different things to organise them, pegs,
and these clipy things!
Well lesson learnt and all, I needed to find some other way of keeping my stash of ribbons neat and organised.
I’ve had this box containing drawer liners for something like 5 years; I have terrible issues getting rid of things!
Then the other day I realised that this box would make for some cutie mctutie ribbon storage!
All I had to do was, take out the papers.
Find the centre of each end.
Poke a hole through each end, and shove a dowel through one end and poke it through the other.
Trim off the excess dowel, I left about .5cm on either end.
A blob of hot glue and a button on one end of the dowel, this will stop the dowel from going too far through and falling out.
Thread ribbons on to the dowel, once full, poke the end out through the other hole.
Now I have some totally cute storage, all I need now is somewhere to store my storage!
