Homemade Waffles ~ Recipe
Breakfast is apparently the most important meal of the day, yet sometimes it is so monotonously boring.
I’m trying to keep the boys interested in the morning routine before trudging off to school, one way is by keeping breakfast interesting.
I really do not want to start our days off with a battle to get the boys to eat before leaving the house, knowing they will have a treat for breakfast once in a while keeps them from turning into stubborn poo poo heads!
Yesterday I set to making a batch of waffles.
This is my favourite recipe, tweaked, tried and tested numerous times to get ‘the’ perfect one!
What to do!
Warm up your waffle maker.
Whisk up both eggs.
Sift in the flour.
Add milk, vegetable oil, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Now is when you would add any flavouring you would like!
Using an electric mixture combine all the ingredients, don’t over mix!
Add mixture to your heated waffle maker, the amount you add depends on the type you have!
Wait until the waffles are a golden brown colour, remove from waffle maker and place on a cooling rack.
Keep going until you’ve used up all the mixture.
One of the best things about this recipe is that it’s basic, you can add pretty much any flavouring to suit your mood!
Some of those we love are
1tsp vanilla extract
handful of chocolate drops
1/2 tsp cinnamon and a shredded apple

One of my favourite ways to finish waffles is with a sprinkle of powdered sugar, or magic sugar as we call it, but there are oodles of ways to make them a little more interesting!
Fruit is always a good option, especially at breakfast whilst ice cream makes it an extra special after dinner treat!
