I read the book, tried out some recipes and sampled the delightful cupcakes, I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who wants to take their cupcakes up a notch!

The Make, Bake, Cupcake The Recipe Book, from Love Food Parragon, provides inspiration that allows any baker to take the humble blank canvas of a cupcake and create their own decadent delights!

It’s easy to get comfy with baking, yet this book has so many fabulous ideas you’ll be itching to get in the kitchen and whip up a batch of unique cupcakes.

The design and layout of the book is wonderfully thought-out, it starts of with Recipe Basics; handy for those new to baking or those needing a refresher course.

Make Bake Cupcake Review intro

Following up with various frosting techniques, tips on piping and advice on Storage & Eating; did you know you can freeze unfrosted cupcakes?!

There are 5 chapters; Chapter 1 Cocktails & Mocktails, Chapter 2 Feisty Flavours, Chapter 3 Fun & Frosted,Chapter 4 Scary Cute & Chapter 5 Hidden Surprises, each identifiable with their own cupcake themed tabs.

From Caramel Appletini, Maple & Bacon and Belly-up Bear Cupcakes to Toadstool Cupcakes and PiƱata Cupcakes there is something for everyone and every occasion.

Each recipe provides a complete ingredients list, including those required for any filling and decorating. The recipes are broken down in to easy to follow steps, referencing frosting techniques where necessary, several also feature Top Tips enabling you to make the most of your baking session.

Every recipe is accompanied by at least one beautiful photo showcasing the finished cupcakes, several include step by step photo instructions on the more technical aspects of decorating.

The good ~ It’s hard to standout in an already saturated market, Make, Bake, Cupcake The Recipe Book does just that not just with it’s clever and unique approach to decorating cakes but also the fun design. The chapters are identified by their own cupcake shaped tabs, pastel striped pages and hand drawn images giving the book a rather unique style.

Make Bake Cupcake Review photos and tabs

The photos seem realistic, I’m easily put off by recipe books in which the photos look too perfectly staged, in Make, Bake, Cupcake The Recipe Book the photos come across as more realistic therefore closer to the end product.

The bad ~ Not much at all to be honest, there were no festive themed cupcakes, which was a shame.

‘Notes for the reader’ which includes information on measurements, type of milk, size of eggs and allergens was located on the very last page of the book, below printing info, I really do feel this information should have been at the beginning of the book.

Overall Make, Bake, Cupcake is fabulous recipe book, which would make a great addition to any recipe collection.
