Silent Sunday

I’ve gone for a different pier today, Hastings Pier.

hastings pier

This week I’ve rather fallen out of whatever admiration I had for Eastbourne Pier, perhaps I’m just done with photographing it from different views, maybe the recent fire is still a gloomy memory or most likely the death this week of Stephen Penrice, one of the men rebuilding the pier has left me feeling somewhat down and not wanting to go visit it.

Maybe next week.

  1. I can only imagine how it must feel this week. This is a beautiful photo though, I love the view through the grasses.

  2. Sorry to hear about the man dying. No wonder you don't feel like visiting the pier this week. This is a beautiful shot, though. Lovely to see it through the grasses.

  12. Despite the recent death you've discussed along with the fire that's left you rattled, this is a beautiful picture of the pier. You're right in saying: maybe next week. Hope you're hanging in there.

  13. It's a catalogue of misery for this lovely pier. Great photo though as always :)

  14. That is a wonderfully composed photograph, love the lines and mixture of the grass against the smoothness of the sea. I've also got out of focus grass in front of my subject! So sad to see about Eastbourne Pier, but worse to hear about that poor man! Hope nothing else happens.
