Beach Daze
Summer is over.
It’s back to school on Monday so our trips to the beach which have been almost an everyday occurrence over the past 7 weeks will once again be relegated to the weekends and the odd spontaneous stroll after school.
We are fortunate to live 2 minutes at a slow walk from the beach; we can hear the waves crashing on the shingle when the tide is high, we can smell the unmistakeable scent of seaweed when it gets swept up on to the beach. Our home is full of driftwood, shells, sea glass and sand. Needless to say, the beach is our go to place; here’s some of our Summer highlights.
Our favourite time to visit the beach is low tide, when the sand is revealed and goofing about is mandatory.
We’ve been skateboarding, we’ve read books, looked at butterflies and napped on mama.
There was more goofing about in the water.
Which went off the charts when huge rubber rings came in to play!
We enjoyed the not so sunny days and chased a few seagulls.
Enjoyed breakfast picnics on the sand.
Braved stormy weather to play with cousins.
Acted goofy again.
Read a bit more.
Swam in our pants when we forgot our trunks.
Discovered wetsuits!
These are only a snapshot of our summer on the beach, if you’re ever in any doubt about a trip to the beach…just go!
